CITY OF WESTON EOC IT SERVICES BUILDING – MEP/FP ENGINEERING DESIGN, CITY OF WESTON, FLORIDA

Gartek provided full Fire Protection, Clean Agent System for the IT/ Server Room, Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical Engineering design, as well as Construction Administration services for a new three-story, 21,600-square-foot building situated between City Hall and the Police Services Center. The first-floor offices for building code, zoning code, fire code, code enforcement, and records storage; the second floor includes the City’s emergency operations center, IT offices, kitchen facilities, and multi-purpose space, while the third floor is reserved for future development. A key feature of the design is a stand-by power system that ensures uninterrupted operation of the entire facility.
PBC FIRE RESCUE TRAINING FACILITY – POWER AND HVAC, WEST PALM BEACH, FL
Gartek provided engineering services for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection upgrades at the Fire Rescue Training Facility. The scope included the design of a new DX split system to condition Office 111 and Rehab 112, along with associated insulation and fire sprinkler modifications. Electrical upgrades included dedicated 20-amp circuits for both rooms, outdoor circuits for two ice machines, a 240V circuit for welding equipment, twelve overhead shore power stations, and two new 200-amp panels. Three Big Ass Fans with wall control were added in the apparatus bay. All new loads were designed to connect to normal power only, not emergency power. Gartek also performed a site visit, coordinated architectural insulation work, and provided construction administration services.

PBC FIRE STATION # 26 – ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS UPGRADE, WEST PALM BEACH, FL

Gartek provided engineering services for the replacement of the existing generator at Fire Station 26 to support the entire facility load. The existing system included four electrical service mains and a 30kW LP-fueled generator serving the fire pump and selecting emergency panels. Gartek evaluated the facility’s electrical demand, confirming that an 80kW diesel generator, as selected by PBC, would meet NEC requirements. The design corrected code compliance issues by separating Life Safety and optional loads per NEC 700.6(D). Due to NFPA 20 fuel requirements, Gartek recommended a generator with a sub-base fuel tank to ensure adequate fire pump operation without modifying the existing 1,000-gallon tank. The proposed generator includes a sound-attenuated, wind-rated outdoor enclosure.
