Due Deligence
& Studies

(Vizcayal Museum & Gardens)

Gartek provides thorough due diligence and feasibility studies for MEP/FP systems. Our team assesses existing conditions, identifies potential code compliance issues, evaluates system capacity, and analyzes opportunities for upgrades or efficiencies. These studies are essential during early project phases, especially for renovations, acquisitions, or adaptive reuse, allowing clients to make informed decisions, reduce risk, and plan effectively for design and construction.

VIZCAYA MAIN HOUSE – MEP FEASIBILITY STUDY, MIAMI, FL

Gartek Engineering Corporation conducted a comprehensive MEP Concept Feasibility Study for the Vizcaya Main House. The work included site visits to assess existing conditions, meetings with facility staff, and a review of as-built plans. In coordination with Linden Preservation Services, an illustrated narrative was developed to evaluate the feasibility and impact of various MEP upgrade options, including improvements to HVAC systems, climate controls, and electrical infrastructure. While fire protection and detailed cost estimating were outside the scope, Gartek supported the cost estimator with Rough Order of Magnitude input.

PORT EVERGLADES – GENERATOR/ REDUNDANCY & EMERGENCY ELECTRICAL BACKUP POWER SYSTEMS, FORT LAUDERDALE, FL

tudy of the redundancy and emergency electrical backup power systems at eight existing seaport terminals was conducted. The project consisted of three tasks: Gathering information regarding existing emergency power systems and providing a report on existing conditions and observations; Developing options for improving emergency backup power at each of the terminals, including information for cost estimating tasks and issuing a summary report; Final report that included an executive summary, anticipated costs, and priority recommendations by terminal building.

PBC FIRE RESCUE TRAINING FACILITY – FEASIBILITY STUDY, WEST PALM BEACH, FL

Gartek conducted a feasibility study to evaluate HVAC and electrical upgrades at the Apparatus Bay and adjacent rooms. The study included assessing the possibility of extending HVAC service from the existing chilled water system or determining the need for supplemental DX split systems. Gartek also evaluated the electrical system’s capacity to support the addition of two Big Ass Fans, ten shore power stations, and a new 400-amp panel within the Apparatus Bay. Additionally, the team assessed whether the proposed HVAC and electrical additions could be supported by the facility’s emergency power system. A site visit and field verification were performed as part of the investigation.
