FT. LAUDERDALE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – TERMINAL 4 DESIGN-BUILD PROJECT, FORT LAUDERDALE, FL

Gartek provided electrical design services for a Design-Build project at Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport’s Terminal 4, involving the construction of a new air-conditioned facility to house an in-line baggage screening system adjacent to the existing TSA screening area. The work, located within a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA), was completed in compliance with BCAD and federal security requirements. The overall project included phased demolition, structural foundations, MEP systems, communications, fire protection, and the integration of new baggage handling system components with existing conveyors, all while maintaining continuous airport operations.

TAMPA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – AIRSIDE E DESIGN BUILD PROJECT, TAMPA, FL

Design-build of a 3-level, 247,000 S.F., 14-gate airside expansion. Included central energy and preconditioned air plants, outbound baggage conveyer system, offices, food service, support, loading dock, holding areas, concessions, shops, and airline club. Services included the design of Plumbing and Fire Protection.

DIAGEO DISTELLERY BUILDING SITE – DESIGN BUILD, CAYMAN ISLAND, USVI

Gartek Engineering Corporation provided MEP/FP engineering design services for several Diageo facilities, including the 7,504 SF Diageo Experience Center—featuring a reception area, display corridors, presentation theater, bar and lounge, retail space, and offices. Gartek also designed MEP/FP systems for an Analytical Laboratory with chemical storage, microbiology, and sensory testing areas. Additionally, as part of the Design-Build team for the Captain Morgan Rum Barrel Warehouse in the Cayman Islands, Gartek supported the 20-acre development, which included an administration building, utility building, 250,000-gallon fire water tank, and over 207,000 SF of barrel storage, with high-hazard fire protection systems and LEED-focused design.
