Project Description:

Expansion of baggage claim conveyors on both the “red” and “blue” sides of the terminal in addition to the east expansion to the baggage claim system to increase the capacity, functionality and speed of the baggage handling system. An interesting feature of the new baggage claim area is the improved lighting that is activated and brighter for the baggage claim area in use and dims when not in use.

 

Plumbing services provided took into consideration how the expansion to the baggage claim system would affect the areas on levels 1 and level 2 ATO’s (airline ticket offices) and provided engineering solutions for the existing underground storm and sanitary drainage lines within this area which service a large portion of the existing terminal building to minimize disruption to the daily operations of the facility.

 

The Fire Protection services included the coordination of both the existing and new fire sprinkler system to tie the new system into the existing fire sprinkler system which is fed from a fire pump located in the service building along the north side of the existing terminal. The fire main branches out into zone valves through the facility which will assist in limiting the interruption of the existing system with in the construction areas when tying the new system into the existing system.
